The kind of work you would be building
The job, in plain terms
Hours & pay
Full-time, roughly 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday through Friday. Overtime available when a job calls for it. Pay is hourly and based on what you can actually do — tell us the rate you are looking for on the application and we will be straight with you.
Where you'd work
Shop is at 1609 Manufacturers Drive in Fenton. Jobs are in greater St. Louis and the surrounding counties — occupied homes, mostly within a 45-minute drive. No travel out of town.
A normal week
One or two jobs at a time. You set the day's plan, keep the crew moving, handle the finish work that has to be right, and keep the homeowner in the loop. Project manager handles the scheduling, permits and materials.
The work mix
Framing
Additions, basements, structural changes on existing homes.
Trim & Finish Carpentry
Base, casing, crown, built-ins, stair parts.
Decks
Wood and composite, elevated framing, railings, stairs.
Doors & Windows
Replacements and new openings, properly flashed.
Cabinets
Kitchen and bath sets, hanging and fitting to real walls.
Drywall
Hang, patch and prep so finishes land clean.
What we're looking for
- Several years of hands-on carpentry — residential remodeling above new construction
- Able to read a scope, set the day's plan, and keep a job moving without hand-holding
- Comfortable directing one or two other workers on site
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Shows up when you say you will and talks straight with homeowners
